Welcome to the
Scheduled meeting The next meeting of the ACC on April 26th at OSI Tobacco in North Canton. The address is 3915 Everhard Road NW and the phone number is (330) 494-6152. We haven't been there for a monthly herf but we can expecting a great time. The meeting will start at 7:00p and could run as late as 10:00p. Prior to the meeting the Offices will meet to arrange issues to be brought to the club’s attention. At the official start time of the meeting we will mention the club business and ask for input. If you have any suggestions or issues you would like to mention, that would be the time to do it. Usually this phase of the gathering takes about 15 minutes to complete and we can commence with the herfing. The format for the meeting is as follows . . .
Web Site update There have been some modifications to the pages over the past weeks. The side menus have changed to pictures of actual cigars. This was done for aesthetical reasons but also to facilitate the ability to add or change menu options. This brings us to the second change. The Cigar Review menu was changed to just plane Reviews. Here we have combined Herf and Cigar reviews and also added Restaurant and Retail Shop lists. On the Forum was added Cigar Ads for the people who sign on just to leave ads. The messages that fit that category have already been move to that room. The guest book is showing we are still making contact with people outside our area. When you visit the home page, if you haven't already signed the book, please do. Hopefully that will spur other visitors to sign in as well. A menu bar has been added to the bottom of the web pages to assist in navigations. The Links page has two choices in the submenu. "Featured" and "More Links". There is a lot of room for development there and some ideas for changing the menu structure will be examined. This is currently a place where we can put in links for cigar websites, restaurants and stores. It is time to cull some of the deadwood however. If you visit sites that are listed on our pages and they don't have a link to us, we need to know so we can contact them or remove them from our page. Fair is fair. Herf on!
Go-Live Since we have Gone-Live we have had nearly 9200 hits. The hits have been increasing over the last three months which is a sign of a good web site. As always, there is still a lot to do. Thanks to the assistance of everyone in the club and all the feed back we have received. Please keep sending suggestions and feedback. This your web site of ours is progressing nicely. There are plenty of opportunities to make this a top rated site and a possible money maker for the club. Anyone can write a review of their favorite Cigars, Cigar Links, Manufacturers, or any cigar related topic. The more we all participate in the content of the board, the more this website will be important to the cigar world.
Photos Photos of herfs are located in the photo gallery. You can click on the pictures to bring up the full size picture. The photos are now set up to expand to a new page when the thumbnail is clicked.
Uploads There is a section for uploads. These should be club related files that will be available for downloading by other members. It is not known how that will apply at this time but from previous experience it will be an asset. Rather than waiting until it is needed to try and set up the file section, it better to build it in to begin with. Take a look to see what is there, but please ignore the thumbs.db file. That comes up as a result of a directory scan on the server. At this time the uploading and the download function is turned on. Some of the ways we might use the files section would be for exchanging photos of cigars, each other’s humidors, of cigars in collections, whatever.
Piano Guy’s Page Piano Guy's pages have been updated with some new information. They are of great interest but he has been quite busy unable to send more pages. He said he should be able to get some new pages put together but he would like help. Please go to his comments page and let him know what you would like him to write about. Also, if you are interested in writing some articles to have posted on his pages, by all means, write them up and send them to him. He will make sure the facts are correct and send them in to have them posted.
