Greetings,
You have entered the Akron Cigar Club.
We are a group dedicated to the simple pleasure that comes with smoking a good
cigar while in the company of good friends. We meet on a monthly basis at cigar
friendly establishments in the greater Akron area. Time at each meeting is devoted
to topics concerning the art of producing a quality handmade cigar.
Our only requirement for membership is that you enjoy sharing your cigar smoking
experiences with others. Connoisseurs as well as the uninitiated are welcome.
If you want to learn about the fascinating world of handmade premium cigars
without prejudice, or if you enjoy sharing your knowledge with those who are
eager to learn, then you have come to the right place.
Explore our web site, fire up another stogie, and make yourself at home. You
are among friends here.

MESSAGE FROM THE
BURGHERFERS OF PITTSBURG
Gentlemen
(& ladies): We are faced with a tremendous opportunity here in Pittsburgh with
the creation, introduction and unveiling of Montecristo's Cigar Club at PNC
Park for the 2006 season.
At a time when we are seeing venues for us to
enjoy a fine cigar being taken away, the Pittsburgh Pirates actually sees us
as a lucrative niche market and is willing, obviously, to make a substantial
investment in us and our love of fine cigars. And they have done it in a big
way! Now it is our turn to show our appreciation.
Can we, as a group of cigar lovers, among ourselves and through our
friends and business associates, thank the Pirates for giving us this opportunity and,
quite possibly, showing the rest of professional sports just how successful venues like
The Montecristo Club can be, and enjoy the living hell out of some 2006 home games
by purchasing a pair of season ticket packages for Montecristo's Cigar Club?
I think we can! Here's how...but we have to move quickly.
Full season = 81 Home Games
Two tickets for each game
Ability to exchange tickets for other home games based on space availability inside Montecristo's
Each ticket to a game at Montecristo's will include:
- a premium cigar from the many Altadis USA brands (http://www.altadisusa.com/)
- a premium beverage tasting - a GOURMET DINNER - access to a private cigar
locker
- 1 for each season package, so 2 lockers, actually (have to figure that one
out with a buy like this)
- live jazz after Friday night games (13 of them)
- live blues after Saturday night games (13 of them)
- invitations to private non-game day Montecristo Club events (have to figure
that one out too)
- private smoker events throughout the year
Again, the Pirates will work with us as a group, all, partially or individually
to arrange game tickets in a manner that suits us best...space permitting, of
course.
Based on ticket pairs, all this breaks down to just $120 / game!
Sure, that is more expensive than the outfield bleacher seats, but look what
is included...cigars, smoking cigars, drinks, private facilities, A GOURMET DINNER,
air conditioning, awesome ventilation, no sweat rainy days, incredible view of
the Burgh and more. Did I mention cigar smoking during the games? I was knocking
on the door of a $100 night for each of the cigar nights last year when I factored
in the tickets, food, etc and I had to walk around the stadium to get the food
I wanted and beer was the only choice if you wanted a little alcohol...and Bud
Light...puhlease.
So, can we do this? Can we get commitments for 81 pairs of tickets?
Friends? Co-workers? On-line forum buddies? Can we make it happen?
We need to know as soon as freakin' possible because the season starts in less than
two months and this will require some effort and then distributing the tickets and
making any alternative ticket arrangements will need time as well.
With that in mind, let's set a "Go / No-Go Trigger Date" of Tuesday,
February 28th.
Give me only real, honest, serious, gimme-the-word-and-I'll-cut-the-check commitments
between now and Tuesday, February 28th. If we end up within a couple games,
we'll do it and I'll need all checks by that Friday, March 3rd. If we fall way
short, we say "nice try" and aim again for next season.
I will start by committing to two pair or two games for $240! Follow the Baseball, Butts and The Burgh
ticker at http://www.burghherfers.com . Let's get active, folks and make this happen!!!
